Summer preparation, league updates, and the expected fixture list for the new 2025/26 season
The 2025/26 season marks a major milestone – it will be the 80th season in the history of FC Lokomotíva Košice. Preseason started on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, and the league is set to kick off a month later on August 2, 2025.
Summer Preparation & Friendlies
We’ve scheduled four friendly matches as part of our preseason training, taking on teams from various leagues:
- MFK Vranov nad Topľou (TIPOS 3rd League East)
- MŠK Novohrad Lučenec (TIPOS 3rd League Central – post-reorganisation)
- Stará Ľubovňa (MONACObet 2nd League)
- FK Kechnec (4th League East)
Before the league kicks off, we will also play in Round 1 of the Slovnaft Cup 2025/26. The opponent for that match is yet to be announced. Final friendly match dates may be adjusted depending on the cup schedule.
Changes in TIPOS 3rd League East
As of the application deadline (June 19, 2025), 14 clubs have applied to participate in the TIPOS 3rd League East. One change is confirmed: OFK Raslavice will replace FC Tatran Prešov B. One more spot in the MONACObet 2nd League is still undecided and could go to MFK Snina, which may again affect our league lineup.

Projected League Fixture
Using the Berger scheduling model for 14 teams, each team is expected to play 26 league matches – one round in the autumn and one in the spring.
Based on the current draw, 4 of our first 6 matches will be away games. Official match dates and kick-off times will be confirmed after the full league schedule is published.
