Several new developments and a clear goal for the spring portion of the 2024/25 TIPOS 3rd League East season – that’s how FC Lokomotiva Kosice is preparing to head strong into the spring.
The first piece of news is that apart from tomorrow’s 16th round, FC Lokomotiva Kosice will play the rest of its home matches on a Saturday. The reason for this is to be more focused on preparation for the team and requests from our fans. Another reason being the fact that as of January 1st, 2025, we are the only tenant of the Lokomotiva Stadium in Cermel, so there is an open timeslot every Saturday reserved for matches. In light of this, there are also future considerations about having our Loky U19 and Loky U17 teams share the stadium. Currently in regards to training and matches, we have 3 different venues at our disposal: Lokomotiva Stadium in Cermel’, the stadium in Barca and a revitalised grass pitch at ZS Poziarnicka.
Another new development is that the coaching staff is being strengthened by the arrival of Lokomotíva Košice academy product Martin Juhar, who will work as an assistant to head coach Milan Lalkovič. For Loky U19, we have recruited Peter Bašista, a well-known football player and coach. Together with Lukáš Maliňák, the Loky U17 coach, and our head coach Milan Lalkovič, they will collaborate in preparing our youth players.
During the winter break, our squad saw four departures and four arrivals:
Departures:
- Matej Podstavek -> Slávia TU Košice
- Vuk Dapčevič -> FK Balkan Eagles
- Dávid Pastyrčák -> FK Kechnec
- Patrik Grega -> Career break due to injury
Arrivals:
- Lukáš Horváth – a very well-known and popular 37-year-old defender among our fans, who previously played 140 matches for Lokomotíva Košice. A Tatran Prešov youth product, he last played for FK Humenné.
- Ján Dzurík – a 31-year-old defender, also a Tatran Prešov youth product, who most recently played alongside Horváth at FK Humenné.
- Vladimír Kaňuch – a 21-year-old forward, on loan from MŠK Žilina.
- Daniel Pástor – an 18-year-old defender, on loan from Hamšík Academy, with the possibility of also appearing for our Loky U19.
We currently have 19 players in the squad: two goalkeepers and 17 outfield players. In addition, we can continue to utilise alternating starts from Zemplín Michalovce until the end of the season.

Our clear goal for the spring portion of the season is to analyse and learn from our autumn matches. We’ll do this with preparation through match execution and by maximising the quality of our squad, as well as to show our fans in Kosice the best, most honest football we are capable of. After all, we are representing our famous club and our city.
