Eight matches unbeaten, but the clash with the league leaders revealed more than the scoreline
Loky remain unbeaten in the spring part of the season, extending their run to eight matches without defeat. After four wins and three draws, Saturday brought a big test against table leaders Humenné.
Before kick-off, many fans would likely have accepted a draw. But the match itself showed that Loky had the quality to take all three points.
The key moment came early in the second half. Leading 2:1, Loky gained a numerical advantage after a red card for the opposition in the 48th minute. Later, with just thirteen minutes remaining and a 3:1 lead, the team looked firmly on course for victory.
However, unlike recent matches in Raslavice, Medzev, and Sabinov, the closing stages did not go in Loky’s favour this time.
Despite the disappointment of conceding late and finishing 3:3, there are plenty of positives to take. The team delivered an exciting performance, scored quality goals, and created several strong chances that kept the fans engaged throughout.
A special moment came again from Aki, whose substitution in the 74th minute made an immediate impact — scoring just two minutes after coming on.
This result also marks Loky’s eighth consecutive match without defeat in the spring season, underlining the team’s consistency and growing confidence.
For many supporters, the match had an additional storyline. Several former Loky players appeared in Humenné’s lineup, including Miloslav Bréda, Lukáš Horváth, Igor Komjatý, Ján Dzurík, Miroslav Petko, Tomáš Ilinjo, and Jakub Straka — all remembered positively by the club.
